Ryomen Sukuna (Hida Senkoji Temple)

Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful clan leader from Hida, is said to live in Nyukawa-cho, Takayama City.
The Nihon Shoki records that Ryomen Sukuna rebelled against the Yamato court and was defeated, but in various parts of Hida and Mino, he is said to have been a brave priest and agricultural leader, and he is remembered as a local hero who protected the local people from the tyranny of the central government and devoted himself to promoting the region.
He is said to have been born in Dewa-ga-daira (currently near the Hida Great Cave) in Himen, Nyukawa Town, and is also famous for being the site of the founding of Senkoji Temple. Since then, Nyukawa Town has been holding the "Yado Hina Festival" as a way to revitalize the area using "Ryomen Sukuna" since before the merger, and has also been working hard to develop and promote Sukuna pumpkins as a local specialty.
In recent years, in a popular manga that has been adapted into an anime, Ryoumen Sukuna has been depicted as a cursed object that possesses the main character, attracting a lot of attention.
Senkoji Temple, where Ryomen Sukuna is enshrined, is about a 20-minute drive from Kusa no Niwa.

Takayama Showakan

When you step through the noren curtain of Showakan, you will find yourself transported back in time to the Showa era.
It is a place that will evoke a mysterious, nostalgic feeling not only for those of the generation that has fond memories of this era, but also for those of the generation that is experiencing the Showa era for the first time.
If you come to Takayama, this is a recommended spot that you should definitely visit.
Takayama Showakan is easily accessible, a 13-minute walk from Takayama Station, a 5-minute walk from the old town (Sanmachi Street), and a 7-minute walk from Kusa no Niwa.

Takumi no Yakata Forest Aquarium (Tagami Family Residence)

The folk art museum "Takumi no Yakata" is a traditional farmhouse representative of Hida and was designated as a cultural asset of Takayama City and a constituent cultural asset of Japan Heritage in 2007.
The museum is packed with Hida's nature and culture, and includes materials on Hida craftsmen, a gallery with dioramas and special exhibitions that recreate the area around Takayama Station in the 1950s, and an aquarium with a collection of freshwater fish.
