In the winter in Takayama, there are likely to be many days with snow.
If you are coming by car, please check the weather conditions carefully, especially in winter.
If snowfall is expected, please drive safely by using snow tires, tire chains, etc.

4. Parking Space

You can park your car in front of the house on the space filled with pebbles.
However, we are afraid that the spot may not be available in winter depending on the depth of snow cover.
Parking for the grass garden is the gravel area in front of the building.
Two cars can be parked vertically.
*Depending on the amount of snow in winter, it may not be available.

5.Sorry, but the next car park is not ours.

Please be careful not to park in your neighbor's parking lot by mistake.

6.Please walk toward the house, and you will find the front door.

Go towards the building and you will come to the entrance.

There is a keypad on the sliding front door.

8.Press the button of the cord, then turn the knob to the left to unlock.

After pressing the PIN button, turn the knob to the left to unlock.

9.This is the entrance. Please take off your shoes before stepping on the raised floor.

10.Please check in at the tablet terminal at the entrance.

*There is a passport photo screen for overseas guests, but Japanese guests will need to show their driver's license or other identification.
Please prepare it or proceed with normal shooting.
If the screen doesn't move forward, it's okay to just leave it as it is.

11.Since Kusanoniwa is an old traditional Japanese house, the ceilings and lintels are extremely low. Would you please be careful and watch your head all the time when you walk around or stand up inside the house.

Kusa no Niwa is a traditional Japanese house from long ago, so the ceilings and beams are low.
Please be careful when walking around or getting up.

12.There is an information for your stay in the box on the table in the living room.

Detailed instructions are included in the box on the dark living room table.
(Information about the accommodation, information about nearby shops, Wi-Fi information, etc.)

13. Plan of the grass garden.

The two rooms at the back and next to the entrance are bedrooms, and each room is equipped with up to three futons (six in total).

14.Fire is strictly prohibited in Kusanoniwa.

Please refrain from smoking on the premises, including the garden and entrance.(Fire alarms are installed in all rooms.)
No open flames allowed in the grass garden.

15.Water Heater Controller is on the wall near the kitchen.

1) Turn on the button.
2) Wait 5 min. to get ready.
3) Power turns off automatically for safe reason after an hour and a half when it's not used.
4) Turn it on again when it turns off.

The water heater panel is on the wall near the kitchen.
1) Press the ON button.
2) It will take a few minutes to preheat.
3) For safety reasons, the electricity will automatically turn off after 1.5 hours.
4) If the power goes out, turn it back on.

16.We provide heating devices such as electric heater, kerosene heater,
Kotatsu (a table with an electric heater underneath), electric heating blanket
to keep warm in winter.

To help you spend the Takayama winters in warmth, the Kusa-no-Niwa Garden provides heating appliances such as air conditioners, kotatsu, kerosene fan heaters, and electric blankets (available from November to April).
